Research in the Cognition and Aging lab focuses on understanding the nature of age-related changes in cognition and memory, the perception and experience of emotional stimuli, the effect of stereotypes on judgment and behavior, and the factors that influence memory judgments. We use a combination of behavioral, computational, and electrophysiological techniques to investigate age-related changes in attention, memory, and the impact of affective stimuli on cognition. Current projects in the lab include research investigating the behavioral and neural correlates of lying and deception.
The lab is currently accepting applications for undergraduate student research assistants for the Spring 2024 and Fall 2024 term. Students may volunteer in the lab or may receive course credit in PSYC B403 or INDT B410 if desired. If interested, email Anjali Thapar (athapar@brynmawr.edu) for additional details.
